New York City has an extensive public transportation system that includes the bus, subway, ferry, and commuter trains. These options can take you anywhere you need to go, at an affordable rate.

Commuter Trains

Commuter trains take you in and out of New York City. Manhattan has 2 major train stations:

  • Grand Central Terminal: Trains from Metro North and Long Island Railroad go in and out of Grand Central Terminal.
  • Penn Station: Trains from New Jersey Transit, Amtrak, and Long Island Railroad go in and out of Penn Station.

Metro North trains go to the Bronx, Westchester, and Connecticut.

New Jersey Transit trains go to New Jersey.

Long Island Railroad trains go to Long Island.

Amtrak trains go nationwide.
