Science drives us to keep expanding on what we know and never stay stagnant. In my research, I am trying to understand the mechanisms behind different forms of cell death. As a PhD, you need to be adventurous in trying out labs that work on things that may be completely new to you. Don’t pick a lab just because they’re working on something familiar to you. I chose Gerstner Sloan Kettering because it offered me an exciting new program and a great location in New York City. I like the ease of getting around, the energy, and the beautiful winters.
