I am a physician assistant (PA) with more than 15 years of experience in LGBTQI+ health, gynecologic oncology, and gynecology. At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), I support people diagnosed with all types of cancers who identify as part of the LGBTQI+ community.
When patients meet with me, they are often concerned about how their identity may affect the care they receive for cancer. I serve as a resource to ensure culturally competent care that is also on the cutting edge of scientific advances. I see patients at the David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care at MSK.
In addition to providing direct care to patients, I supervise more than 45 nurse practitioners and physician assistants in subspecialty medicine and supportive care services. I am part of the LGBTQI+ Clinical Advisory Council and help provide LGBTQI+ cultural humility training for MSK employees.
I was part of the advisory committee for Welcoming Spaces, a unique cultural humility education program created by the Society of Gynecologic Oncology and the National LGBT Cancer Network to improve experiences of LGBTQ+ folks with gynecologic cancers. I teach LGBTQ+ studies at Hofstra University’s Physician Assistant Program.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time outside with my family. I am also proud to serve on the Board of Directors for New York Transgender Advocacy Group.
