I am a nurse practitioner (NP) with over nine years of experience in palliative care and care for patients with all types of cancer at Memorial Hospital. I completed a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Care at MSK.
When patients meet with me, they are often concerned about physical and emotional symptoms related to cancer and its treatment. I prescribe medicines, and offer education, counseling, and support to patients and their families.
I chose a career in healthcare because I am passionate about supporting patients and their families so that they can better cope at each stage of the cancer treatment experience. When I work with patients, I learn about their goals and values and try to align this with their care.
My research interests focus on exploring the health-illness transition experience for patients with a cancer diagnosis and better understanding patient’s goals and values to improve patient/provider communication and allow for goal-concordant cancer care. You can view my published research here.
In addition to providing direct care to patients, I am a Nurse Scientist in the Nursing Research Department at MSK and am an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing.
When I am not working, I enjoy cooking, watching movies, and travelling.
