Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been used in China for more than 2,000 years. Its interest in the west steadily increased over recent decades. The core concepts of TCM emphasize the holistic, dynamic, and harmonious relationships between our body, mind, health, illness, nature, and the seasons.
In this workshop, we introduce concepts such as Qi and the Five Elements as they relate to the seasons. We explore how seasonal changes can influence our health from a TCM perspective, introducing daily lifestyle and self-care recommendations as we move into springtime. Finally, you will experience the TCM qigong practice called Eight Pieces of Brocade (BaDuanJin). Its gentle and easy movements can help preserve the strength and vitality of your body during winter and prepare you for a more active spring.
