During time spent on the spine service, fellows gain experience treating:
- Extradural and intradural tumors
- Percutaneous cement augmentation for spine tumors
- Osteoporotic fractures related to spine treatment
- Pain procedures
- Stereotactic radiosurgery
Core Curriculum & Conferences
The fellowship program is designed within a multidisciplinary setting to provide the education and training necessary for the practice of neurosurgical oncology.

Length of program
One year for the clinical track.
If accepted to do research, the fellow is encouraged to spend 2 years of research time in a laboratory of their choice at MSK.
Eligibility
The neurosurgical fellowship is available to candidates who have completed the core residency training in neurosurgery and who are in excellent standing at their institution. We do not allow enfolded fellowships. We encourage applications from fellows who are interested in developing an academic career in neuro-oncology. Applicants must be eligible for a New York State medical license and must obtain the license prior to beginning the fellowship. To obtain a New York State medical license, candidates are required to have had three years of residency training in the United States or Canada. Foreign applicants must have passed the ECFMG or FMGEMS, as well as the FLEX exams.
