Elective Course Description
The student will participate in daily consultation rounds at Memorial Sloan Kettering under the supervision of endocrinology fellows and Memorial Sloan Kettering attendings. They will participate in the outpatient Endocrine and Diabetes Clinics at Memorial Sloan Kettering, attend weekly clinical teaching conferences and Endocrine Grand Rounds. They will attend general functions of the Department of Medicine, such as weekly Medical Grand Rounds.
Learning Objectives
- Obtain a complete and reliable endocrine history.
- Organize and deliver a clear, concise, and thorough oral presentation of a patient’s history and examination.
- Understand the basic management principles for the most common inpatient endocrine disorders including: Diabetes, hypothyroidism /hyperthyroidism, hypocalcemia/hypercalcemia
