Arvin Dar Elected to the National Academy of Inventors 2024 Class of Fellows
Arvin Dar, PhD, Benno C. Schmidt Chair of Cancer Research, was elected to the 2024 Class of National Academy of Inventors (NAI) Fellows. The NAI Fellows Program highlights inventors who have demonstrated a prolific spirit of innovation through creating or facilitating outstanding inventions that have significantly impacted the quality of life, economic development, and the welfare of society.
Prasad Adusumilli Awarded the Rodman E. Sheed and Thomas G. Sheed Award
Prasad Adusumilli, MD, FACS, thoracic surgeon and cellular therapist, Deputy Chief and Attending of the Thoracic Service, Vice Chair for Translational Research in the Department of Surgery, Co-Director of the Mesothelioma Program, Member of Solid Tumor Cell Therapy at the Cellular Therapeutics Center, and Min H. & Yu- Fan Chair in Thoracic Cancer, received the Rodman E. Sheed and Thomas G. Sheed Award. This award furthers the study and science of medicine while recognizing exceptional contributions to mankind in medicine and medical research.
Urvi Shah Awarded the David M. Goldenberg Clinical Research Training Institute Award
Urvi Shah, MD, myeloma specialist, received the David M. Goldenberg Clinical Research Training Institute Award. Dr. Shad was recognized for her research demonstrating that a high-fiber, plant-based diet may delay the progression of monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) and smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM) to multiple myeloma.
Josana Tonda Received the Excellent Community Partnership Award from the Latina Support Sisters
