Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) today announced the following awards and appointments:

Almudena Chaves Perez, Adriana Mujal, Hina Shah, and Lydia Paraskevi Tsamouri Awarded the 2025 Kravis WiSE Fellowships

Almudena Chaves Perez, Adriana Mujal, Hina Shah, and Lydia Paraskevi Tsamouri
Almudena Chaves Perez, PhD, postdoctoral fellow, Adriana Mujal, PhD, postdoctoral fellow, Hina Shah, graduate student, and Lydia Paraskevi Tsamouri, graduate student, were recipients of the 2025 Marie-Josée Kravis Women in Science Endeavor (WiSE) fellowship. Each year, the Kravis (WiSE) initiative awards several fellowships to female graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to support their research at MSK. The awards are announced in March, to coincide with Women’s History Month, demonstrating MSK’s commitment to supporting promising female scientists

Ariën Schiepers Selected for the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation Fellowship

Ariën Schiepers, PhD, research fellow, was selected for the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation Fellowship. This prestigious four-year fellowship provides $3000,00 in independent funding to support promising young scientists in pursuing careers in cancer research, investigating its causes, mechanisms, therapies, and prevention.

Jamie Ostroff Awarded the Ruth McCorkle Excellence in Research Mentorship Award

Jamie Ostroff, PhD, FAPOS, psychologist, Chief of the Behavioral Science Service, vice chair for research, and Joseph Gaumont Chair of Cancer Prevention, received the Ruth McCorkle Excellence in Research Mentorship Award. This award honors an APOS member who has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to making a significant positive impact on their mentees’ education and career, nurturing intellectual growth, career development, professional guidance, and positive role modeling in the field of psychosocial oncology.

Jason Klein Awarded the Strategy Award by the Markets Group

Jason Klein, senior vice president and Chief Investment Officer, received the Strategy Award from the Markets Group. This award recognizes winning investment strategies for the current economy to curate an actionable thought exchange between allocators.

 

Christopher Crane Awarded the Nobility in Science Award

Christopher Crane, MD
Christopher Crane, MD, radiation oncologist, received the Nobility in Science Award from the National Pancreas Foundation. This award honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to pancreatic care and research, highlighting their scientific advancements, and their dedication to patient care.

MSK Named to Newsweek’s List of America’s Most Loved Brands of 2025 

Newsweek named MSK as one of America’s Most Loved Brands of 2025. The ranking is based on an in-depth survey of 24,000 American consumers who shared their feelings about brands across various industries. Newsweek partnered with analytics firm Plant-A Insights on the survey, which consisted of five categories: brand love, brand credibility, reliability, purchase intent, and brand affinity.
