Scott Stuart, Chair of the Boards of Trustees and Governing Trustees at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), has been recognized as a Notable Nonprofit Board Leader in the 2023 Crain’s New York Business special editorial feature. This list honors exceptional nonprofit board leaders in the New York metro area for their success and accomplishments during the last 18 months.

In his role as Chair of the Boards of Trustees and Governing Trustees at MSK, Mr. Stuart oversees management, finances and guides MSK’s annual priorities and strategic initiatives. Under his leadership, MSK has advanced strategy efforts and patient care transformation initiatives by leading the recruitment of MSK’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Selwyn M. Vickers, MD, FACS, inaugural Chief Administrative Officer, LaKisha Mack, MSHA, Chief Strategy Officer, Anaeze Offodile II, MD, MPH, and inaugural Hospital President, Shelly Anderson, MPH. In addition, MSK has been recognized as one of the top two cancer centers in the country by U.S. News & World Report (2022, 2023) for more than 30 years, and has received more than 575,000 donations and raised more than $569 million for cancer care, research, and education (2022).

Mr. Stuart has served on MSK’s board for over 15 years. In 2021, he and his wife Lisa made a transformational gift to launch the Lisa and Scott Stuart Center for Adolescent and Young Adult Cancers at MSK. The Center has revolutionized cancer treatment for people ages 15 to 39 to meet their very specific and often unmet needs.

A Founder and Managing Partner of Sageview Capital, a growth equity firm that partners with leading tech-enabled businesses, Mr. Stuart is responsible for all aspects of Sageview’s business and sits on the firm’s investment and portfolio committees. In addition, Mr. Stuart has served on over 25 company boards, including Carewell, Pax8, Specright, Drivewyze, NAM, Reflexis Systems, Cadence, Bancorporation, United Capital, EverBank, Chrysler Group LLC (United States Treasury representative), Duracell, Sealy, Inc., Newsquest Media Group, Greenwich Country Day School, Brunswick School, Dartmouth College and the Stanford Graduate School of Business Advisory Council.
