I joined Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as Director of Social Work in October 2021. Before coming to MSK, I worked at New York University Langone Health for 21 years, where I helped create and then led the Advance Care Planning Program across the system. I also worked in the emergency department, pediatrics, adult oncology/hematology, palliative care, and Intensive Care Unit, and served as the domestic violence coordinator.
I am active in national organizations supporting social work leadership in healthcare, advance care planning, and social group work. My interests also include clinical social work, trauma-informed care, bioethics, and promoting resilience for healthcare professionals.
I completed undergraduate studies at the University of Malta and earned my MSW at the University of Toronto. I received my PhD in clinical social work at NYU Silver School of Social Work.
