Hiram S. Cody III, MD, FACS, is an Emeritus Member of the Breast Service, Department of Surgery, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). He is a graduate of the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons (1974). He completed a general surgical residency at The Roosevelt Hospital (1974-1979), a surgical oncology fellowship at MSK (1979-1981), and has been with MSK since 1995, most recently as Attending Surgeon, Member (Memorial Hospital), and Professor of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College. He is a Past President of the American Society of Breast Surgery, has lectured and published widely, and participated in training the next generation of breast surgeons. After 43 years in active practice, he retired from surgery and patient care in January 2024, but will continue with teaching, clinical research, and peer review as an Emeritus Member of the Breast Service.
