I am a nurse practitioner (NP) on the Supportive Care Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). I see patients at MSK Nassau and Commack, as well as by televisit. I work with people in all stages of treatment to help them manage symptoms and feel their best while living with a cancer diagnosis.
At every new patient visit, I ask my patients “What do your medical teams need to know about you as a person to give you the best care?” At first, many patients don’t know exactly how to answer that question! But after some time, the answers usually come easily. The information that comes forth is so important and helps me to support patients in a way that is meaningful to who they are as a whole person. I work very closely with patients, their loved ones, and their oncology teams to provide coordinated care that is in alignment with those values.
In addition to clinical care, I am involved in several projects and activities at MSK. One of my main areas of interest is helping to design and implement programs that help patients get the care they need from the comfort of their own home.
I have worn a few different hats since starting out as a new nurse here in 1999. I can honestly say that there is no place quite like MSK, and I am very proud to work alongside such committed and brilliant teams.
I spend almost all my free time loving on my husband, kids, and my large extended family. Fun fact about me: I am a third-generation nurse and have a teenage daughter who is applying to nursing school for the fall 2024 term.
