I’m originally from Western Canada, and went to Yale for my MD and PhD degrees. Outside of medicine, my interests include painting, art history, indie and classical music, hiking, gourmet restaurants, and social advocacy. Going into radiation oncology, I wanted a challenging internship which would be my foundation for a career in cancer care, but which was balanced with sufficient elective time for self-directed learning. The MSKCC TY program offers such an outstanding experience, with the opportunity to interact with world-class clinical and research faculty at the forefront of oncology. This extremely supportive program works hard to optimize your learning environment, including lectures specifically oriented towards TY interns, guaranteed housing in Manhattan, nutritious salads at lunches, and no traditional (overnight) calls. Hands down, it’s the best TY internship around!
