Paul Hamlin, Clinical Director of Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Lymphoma Outpatient Unit, describes a clinical trial under way to identify risk factors for chemotherapy side effects in older people being treated for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

The researchers aim to enroll 200 patients and create a comprehensive assessment tool that can help in shaping personalized chemotherapy treatment regimens. The tool would account for such side-effect risk factors as nutritional status, memory capacity, walking ability, and the presence of other medical conditions.
