Get to Know Me

As a radiation oncologist I use advanced imaging techniques to design treatments customized for each patient. I work closely with surgeons, medical oncologists, and physicists to develop multidisciplinary care plans.

Patients want to know how our treatments can be tailored to their specific cancer. My research focuses on advancing circulating biomarkers to personalize radiation therapy. These will allow doctors to better predict who may benefit from aggressive local therapies (therapies directed to a specific organ or area of the body), especially for advanced forms of breast cancer and cancer that has spread.

It is a privilege to work at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and I am awed by the strength and resilience of our patients and their families. I want them to feel empowered by the advances and scientific discoveries we are making. I take pride in being able to offer clinical trials that give patients access to groundbreaking therapies. I want them to be hopeful and feel confident that we will work as a team to fight their cancer.

Outside of the hospital, I enjoy running, tennis, and chamber music.

Yeah, I'd like to say that the whole experience was amazing. Dr. Xu is terrific. Even her associate, Daniela, I had a question. Both called me individually in response to questions and just gave me their time and were incredible and supportive and very clear about instructions and follow-up and responded and actually listened to things that I said. They were marvelous. You couldn't do any better.
