We post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.
As an interventional radiologist, I use medical imaging such as computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and X-ray (fluoroscopy) to perform minimally invasive procedures. Interventional radiologists like me can perform procedures with small needles, wires and catheters, rather than incisions, allowing patients to return home the same day. Using these innovative techniques we can safely kill tumor cells by burning or freezing them (ablation) or blocking blood supply (embolization) to tumors.
As a member of the hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) disease management team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, I work closely with HPB surgeons, gastrointestinal oncologists, and gastroenterologists to offer the best treatments for liver, gallbladder, and pancreatic cancers. Very often, there are multiple treatment paths for any given condition. To that end, I believe that it is crucial for patients to have a thorough knowledge of their options, so they can identify the path that most closely aligns with their individual care goals and preferences. I often review patients’ medical images with them and draw pictures to illustrate what our options entail. Educating my patients on the safety of our interventional radiology approaches to cancer care is important to me.
My clinical research is focused on developing therapeutic strategies that leverage minimally invasive interventions to potentiate the effects of immunotherapy. I also have a background in machine learning and am currently building computer vision algorithms to help rapidly identify patients with vascular and oncologic disease who can benefit from minimally invasive treatments.
