Get to Know Me

I am a radiation oncologist who cares for people with lung, head and neck, and gynecologic cancers.

I specialize in intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and image-guided RT. IMRT is a type of RT that delivers radiation directly to cancer cells from different angles. With IMRT, we can give high doses of radiation to the cancer cells while limiting damage to the healthy tissue and organs them.

I am also an expert in stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), which is another very precise form of RT. We use SBRT to treat cancer using high doses of radiation in three to five rounds of treatment.

I treat more than 300 patients each year.

I decided to become a doctor after working as a research assistant in a diagnostic radiology department. During my clinical rotations, I learned how much I enjoy connecting with patients and found radiation oncology to be a perfect blend of patient care and my engineering education. 

I began my practice at Rockville Centre on Long Island, which has since been replaced by MSK Nassau. After five years, I joined the faculty at MSK Commack, also on Long Island, as Chief of Radiation Therapy in 2002. In 2008, I was named Director of the Regional Radiation Oncology Clinical Research Program, and in October 2014, I moved to open MSK Westchester in West Harrison, New York. I am excited to be able to offer the same cutting-edge treatments available at MSK’s Manhattan locations to our patients and neighbors closer to home, eliminating the commute to Manhattan. The smaller size of our facility also allows for a more personal patient experience.

Having my surgical, medical oncology, and radiology colleagues in one building makes working together very easy. We connect frequently to make the best recommendations for each person we meet, including clinical trials for patients interested in learning more about our trials.

Our patients at MSK Westchester have access to many MSK-led, and national clinical trials offering state-of-the-art cancer care. I have served as the MSK principal investigator (the clinical trial lead) on several national lung cancer trials available at MSK.

I cherish the relationships I have with my patients and the trust that they place in me. It is my goal that patients and their caregivers understand my recommendations and feel confident in my care after they meet with me.

Outside of work, my greatest passion is my family. I also enjoy traveling, exercising, hiking, spending time with friends, and exploring new restaurants.

This is definitely a state of the art hospital. The staff is wonderful and helpful. The hospital is clean and the lighting is bright. After my experience with various Sloan Kattering facilities I don't believe I would settle for anything less!
