Get to Know Me
I am a medical oncologist whose clinical practice is dedicated to the care of patients with genitourinary cancers, (prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers).
My scientific curiosity, coupled with my passion for helping people, drove me to the field of oncology. I have made it my life’s work to care for patients with cancer, guiding them and their families through the many decisions and challenges of their disease.
I believe that it is critical to develop treatment plans that are based in science but also align with patients’ individual goals and values. To that end, I ensure that each patient understands all the available treatment options, and I work closely with my colleagues in surgery, radiation oncology, nuclear medicine, and palliative care to provide the highest level of care possible.

Along with the emotional and physical tolls of a cancer diagnosis comes the logistical challenges of rearranging one’s life to accommodate necessary treatment. My goal is to understand the factors necessary to ensure quality of life among patients receiving treatment for cancer. Therefore, my research focuses on empowering patients through the strategic use of technology to bridge the community, home, and clinic. Through this work, I hope to not only better understand the role of telemedicine and home-based cancer therapy, but also how to use technology to minimize the amount of time that patients spend receiving healthcare.
I see patients at the Kimmel Center, as well as Memorial Sloan Kettering Basking Ridge, where my patients have access to a wide array of cutting-edge clinical trials, both in New York and New Jersey. I work with a team of dedicated nurses, support staff, and social workers who help to support patients throughout their care journey.
Outside of work, I enjoy exercising, reading, listening to music, and spending time with my family and friends.

PROFESSIONAL, COMPRENSIVE, EXCELLENT
All my experiences at MSK have been outstanding over the last 6 years. I feel very fortunate to have such excellent resources and people to help me in battling my cancer. MSK keeps me confident that I can continue to enjoy living a full life.
Today I saw Dr. Erin Bange. My nurse was Joanna. On a scale of 0-10 these two are 99 - and I am not sucking up to them at all. Why can I say this - because I do not suck up - ever. When I first arrived at MSK I was in a bad place. And I don't mean maybe. Dr. Bange and Joanna have taken care of me from the very beginning. And I am very grateful. You know, if anyone actually reads these comments, you should double their salaries today. Even then, they would be undervalued. If ever the need arose, I would do anything for the two of them. And I don't mean maybe, again.
Dr. Bange, Joanna Witek, and staff are extremely thorough, professional, and caring. I have had a good experience with them.. thank you!!
Dr. Bange is GREAT!!!.....and so is her entire team.
