Fiyinfolu Balogun, MD, PhD
Gastrointestinal Medical Oncologist
My Role at MSKWe post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.

Cancer is a disease that physically, emotionally, and mentally afflicts patients and their families. It is vital to consider this entire spectrum when we care for our patients. The opportunity to provide well-rounded care to people with cancer is one of the things that drew me to the field of oncology. This field is rapidly evolving in order to meet the needs of treating this disease, making the interplay between research and clinical practice central to caring for people with cancer.
As a medical oncologist, I participate in research endeavors that promote the development of novel drugs and techniques to improve how we manage cancer. I am also very interested in exploring ways by which we can improve access of the most advanced cancer care to all people with cancer. I strive to walk alongside my patients every step of the way through this journey.
A gastrointestinal (GAS-troh-in-TES-tih-nul) medical oncologist is a cancer doctor who specializes in gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. This includes anal, colorectal, esophageal, gastric (stomach), liver, and pancreatic cancers, as well as GI stromal tumors and neuroendocrine tumors.
