Karem Gharzeddine, MD, DABR
Radiologist
My Role at MSKWe post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.

About Me
- Assistant Attending Radiologist
I am a board-certified radiologist specializing in neurologic and molecular oncologic imaging via computed tomography (CT) scan, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and positron emission tomography (PET) scans. My primary area of expertise is the interpretation of emergency radiology imaging of the brain, spine, and head and neck. I also read results from nuclear medicine studies.

At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), I am part of the emergency neuro-oncology radiology unit, which collaborates with our urgent care team to provide timely care for emergencies specific to cancer. We work closely with our colleagues in urgent care, neurology, surgery, radiation oncology, and pathology to offer state-of-the-art emergency care for patients with cancer.
I am originally from Lebanon and obtained both my undergraduate and medical degrees from the American University of Beirut (AUB), an institution steeped in medical history. The university has educated generations of healthcare professionals who’ve served United States communities for more than 100 years while making significant contributions to the field. This heritage motivated me to follow in the footsteps of fellow AUB graduates who have left an indelible mark on healthcare.
My research interests include neuroimaging protocols and findings in the acute (short-term care) setting. I am also interested in the improving various anatomic and molecular techniques that can help radiologists better understand the causes and effects of neuro-oncologic diseases.
In addition to my clinical and research duties, I help teach our radiology trainees. I consider it a privilege to work with the caring, innovative, and world-class experts at MSK to support our patients’ needs and further our scientific knowledge.
A radiologist is a doctor with special training in using imaging to diagnose and treat disease. Imaging includes X-rays, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
