What I Do at MSK

I am an integrative medicine specialist, board-certified internist, and a licensed acupuncturist who seeks to promote the health and well-being of people whose lives have been affected by cancer.

I use evidence-based complementary approaches with standard cancer care to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of my patients. Drawing from the latest scientific evidence, I provide guidance on healthy eating, exercise, sleep, stress management, and the safe, appropriate use of traditional Chinese herbal formulas and other dietary supplements.

I also use acupuncture to manage symptoms that may arise from the cancer treatment process such as pain, fatigue, insomnia, urinary issues, sexual dysfunction, nausea, hot flashes, anxiety, depression, and difficulties with memory or concentration.

As the Director of the Integrative Medicine Fellowship Program, I educate medical trainees about the evidence-based practice of integrative medicine in cancer care. I also conduct research on the effects and mechanisms of complementary approaches, including acupuncture, massage, yoga, mindfulness techniques, and music therapy. I am involved in several clinical trials investigating integrative medicine, and I currently lead studies focused on improving quality of life in prostate cancer survivors. I am dedicated to advancing the research and practice of integrative medicine, with the goal of making evidence-based complementary therapies available to everyone and their communities.
