Matthew Dallos, MD
Genitourinary Medical Oncologist
My Role at MSKWe post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.
About Me
- Assistant Attending Physician
I am a medical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of genitourinary cancers, with a primary focus on prostate cancer. At Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK), I work closely with an exceptional multidisciplinary team of urologists, radiation oncologists, and nurses to provide comprehensive and personalized care for my patients.
A cancer diagnosis has a tremendous impact on a person’s life. I strongly believe that the patient-physician relationship starts with careful listening to each patient’s hopes, goals, and priorities before making a shared decision on an individualized treatment plan. My goal is to provide my patients with access to the most advanced treatments while also improving their quality of life and minimizing side effects.

At MSK, in addition to established treatments, I offer my patients access to a broad range of cutting-edge clinical trials. As a clinical and translational researcher, I design and lead clinical trials that aim to bring new options to people with prostate cancer. My specific research expertise is in developing therapies that activate the immune system against cancer (immunotherapy). Although harnessing the immune system has revolutionized the treatment of other cancers, we continue to work towards realizing the promise of immunotherapy for patients with prostate cancer. By studying the genetic and molecular characteristics of prostate cancers, my research aims to optimize immunotherapy for patients with prostate cancer. To achieve this, I work in close collaboration with a highly interdisciplinary group of basic scientists in immunology, systems biology, urology, and pathology. The ultimate goal of my research is to identify new immune targets and rapidly bring these discoveries to the clinic to improve the lives of patients with prostate cancer.
Outside of work, I can be found outdoors running, cycling, and hiking around the beautiful New York City tri-state area, discovering new science fiction, or spending time with family and friends.
A genitourinary (jeh-nih-toh-YOOR-ih-nayr-ee) medical oncologist is a cancer doctor who specializes in genitourinary (GU) cancers. This includes bladder, kidney, penis, prostate, and testicular cancers.
