I am a medical oncologist who cares for people with gastrointestinal cancers, including colorectal and appendiceal cancer. I am experienced in using advanced treatments to manage disease that has spread to the liver and/or abdominal cavity. These include hepatic arterial infusion (HAI) therapy and intraperitoneal chemotherapy.

My love of basic science and patient-centered care led me to specialize in oncology, a field that inspires hope using creative cancer therapies with compassion. One of the most enjoyable parts of my job is getting to know my patients beyond their diagnosis. My mission is to enable patients to live fulfilling lives through care plans that take their personal goals into account. To this end, I like to make visits as relaxed and casual as possible, so patients feel encouraged to ask questions. I try to reinforce positivity and optimism during each appointment and hope patients walk away feeling more informed and a part of a caring team.

I am also a cancer scientist. My research focuses on using genomic cancer biomarkers (molecular features of cancer cells that can indicate sensitivity to therapies) to develop drugs that target specific cancer proteins. I also develop therapies that help the immune system attack cancer cells. My goal is to give patients access to the most innovative therapies, tailored to their unique disease.

Outside of the clinic, I am a proud cat dad who loves animals, traveling, theater, TV shows, basketball, and playing rock music.

A gastrointestinal (GAS-troh-in-TES-tih-nul) medical oncologist is a cancer doctor who specializes in gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. This includes anal, colorectal, esophageal, gastric (stomach), liver, and pancreatic cancers, as well as GI stromal tumors and neuroendocrine tumors.
