I am a radiologist with a subspecialty in imaging for cancer. I have practiced radiology for more than 15 years and joined MSK in 2002.

I am Director of Body MRI. I am particularly interested in using imaging to provide timely and accurate information for diagnosis, staging, treatment planning, and seeing how a therapy is working. I oversee MRI procedures with the ultimate goal of providing the best cancer care. I work closely with colleagues from many departments on the Genitourinary Cancer Disease Management Team to care for people with genitourinary cancer.

Working at MSK is especially rewarding because it allows me to help many people with cancer. I enjoy working with MRI because it is versatile and provides exquisite anatomical detail about tumors. One of the reasons I am most proud to work here is that I can collaborate with an outstanding team of doctors to improve the lives of the people we care for.

I am an investigator on multiple clinical trials. My research focuses on MRI in cancer imaging with a special interest in genitourinary cancers. With my colleagues, I have published research studies on the appropriate use of imaging for people with cancer. I plan to further investigate the best uses of novel imaging techniques that provide both anatomical and functional information about tumors. This information could be especially useful for new cancer therapies.

I am very involved in medical education through training and mentoring other doctors, both in their work with patients and in their research. I have published several books, book chapters, and scholarly articles in my areas of expertise.

A radiologist is a doctor with special training in using imaging to diagnose and treat disease. Imaging includes X-rays, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
