Raphael Steiner, MD
Lymphoma Specialist
My Role at MSKWe post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.

About Me
- Associate Attending Physician
I am a medical oncologist who cares for people with Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, as well as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). My role is to individualize treatment for each patient.
This includes offering cutting-edge advances, such as immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and cellular therapy to people with these blood cancers. I work in close collaboration with my colleagues across medical specialties at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), like radiation oncology, bone marrow transplantation, and cellular therapy. We ensure that every person in our care receives a personalized care plan aimed at getting them the best possible outcome.
As a lymphoma specialist, I have the highest honor of being able to care for people and make a difference in their lives during their greatest time of need. I am here to help you through this disease, and I will do everything I can to support you and your family every step of the way.

My journey to patient care started in Switzerland, where I grew up, attended medical school, and did a residency in internal medicine/family practice, followed by a fellowship in medical oncology. I came to the United States in 2016 for a lymphoma/myeloma fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where I was appointed to a faculty position in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma. Since 2023, I have had the honor of working as an Associate Attending Physician on the Lymphoma Service at MSK.
For the past few years, I have concentrated my research on rare, aggressive (fast-growing) non-Hodgkin and Hodgkin lymphomas, which represent an area of unmet need in the oncology space. By integrating immunotherapy with research on markers that can predict response to it, I am dedicated to improving patient outcomes, reducing the risk for side effects, and individualizing lymphoma treatments.
