I am a medical oncologist who specializes in caring for people with all types and stages of breast cancer.

I initially became interested in oncology due to all the exciting discoveries and advances in the treatment of cancer. However, once I became an oncologist, I was astonished by how rewarding it felt to care for people with this disease and to be able to make a meaningful impact in their lives.

Cancer is a life-changing diagnosis that can feel overwhelming. It impacts multiple facets of a person’s life. As a child of immigrant parents, I am especially dedicated to making sure patients and their loved ones are equipped with the information and resources they need to confront the unique challenges and barriers that cancer presents. We are incredibly fortunate at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to work alongside an experienced team of compassionate nurses, social workers, therapists, nutritionists, pharmacists, and financial assistance professionals who support patients and their families throughout this journey.

Every person’s story and cancer is unique. My goal is to help each individual feel comfortable facing their cancer experience every step of the way, confident that they are receiving the best care possible, and reassured that we have worked together to develop the very best treatment plan for them.

I work closely with my colleagues in breast medicine, breast surgery, and radiation oncology to deliver the highest quality care for each patient. It’s extremely gratifying to see how new therapies and scientific advances are making a difference. For example, we rely increasingly on the molecular profiling of tumors to find the most effective treatment for a patient’s particular kind of cancer. We also use precision medicine to guide our recommendations around new targeted treatments as well as novel therapies such as antibody drug conjugates — hybrid drugs that make use of immunotherapy and chemotherapy — which will enable more targeted therapy.

Outside of work, I love traveling to new destinations and discovering new cultures. I also enjoy running outside, especially along the West Side Highway, where I can take in the beautiful waterfront view. Lately, my new puppy, Ruby, has been keeping me busy at home. She is a Cavapoo who craves attention, loves anything chicken, and has a knack for finding all my shoes!
