Vetri Sudar Jayaprakasam, MBBS, FRCR, FEBNM
Radiologist & Nuclear Medicine Physician
My Role at MSKWe post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.

About Me
- Assistant Attending Radiologist
I am a diagnostic radiologist and nuclear medicine physician specializing in molecular imaging for cancer diagnosis and treatment. My subspeciality expertise is in gastrointestinal (GI) imaging. I use state-of-the-art imaging technology, such as PET-CT, PET-MRI, and CT to diagnose and stage GI cancers and provide radionuclide therapy to patients who require it. I have practiced radiology and nuclear medicine for more than 10 years and worked in the United Kingdom’s National Health Service before moving to the United States.

It is a privilege to work at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where I collaborate with a world-class team of nuclear medicine physicians, radiologists, technologists, surgeons, pathologists, and oncologists to provide our patients with the highest caliber of care. I specifically serve as a molecular imaging specialist for the esophageal and colorectal disease management teams and work closely with other clinical teams at MSK to provide individualized treatment for each patient.
My research focuses on the functional imaging and radiomics of GI cancers, as well as theranostics, a combination approach that uses one radioactive drug to diagnose a cancer and a second radioactive drug to treat the cancer. Key goals of my research include developing new strategies and improving existing methods for early detection, response prediction, and follow-up for patients with GI cancers.
A radiologist is a doctor with special training in using imaging to diagnose and treat disease. Imaging includes X-rays, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
A nuclear medicine physician is a doctor with special training in using radioactive drugs to diagnose and treat disease.
