I’m a nurse practitioner (NP) certified in oncology nursing. I have special training in the care and treatment of people with breast cancer.
I care for surgical patients in an outpatient (outside the hospital) setting before and after their surgery. I provide long-term follow-up care at the Evelyn H. Lauder Breast Center, also called the Breast and Imaging Center (BAIC) at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK).
I work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other experts on our team. Together, we provide the highest standard of care before and after surgery. I work alone as well as with Dr. Mahmoud El Tamer and Dr. Minna Lee. My responsibilities include ordering annual breast imaging, clinical breast exams, and addressing side effects of treatment.
I talk with my patients about their questions and concerns. They often want to learn about the next steps in their treatment plan after surgery. They also want to learn how to prevent breast cancer in the future.
I’ll talk with you about a personal care plan that’s best for you, based on your risk factors. You may need surveillance. When we watch you over time for signs of cancer, it’s called surveillance or monitoring.
We base your follow-up care on your breast tissue density, risk factors, and symptoms. I’ll also talk with you about what to expect next, so you have knowledge about your care.
I’m passionate about providing excellent patient care. I focus not only on physical needs, but also your mental and emotional health.
Outside of caring for patients, I’m pursuing my Doctorate in Nursing Practice. I’m a member of the American Academy of Breast Surgeons and the Oncology Nursing Society.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my 3 boys, reading, and traveling.
