The department incorporates medical simulation in our clinical practice on a quarterly basis. Medical Simulation is an opportunity to rehearse medical emergencies to improve patient outcomes and team functioning. Our medical simulation team is responsible for designing a range of life-threatening scenarios to assess, educate and help our physicians, CRNAs, fellows and medical residents identify gaps in knowledge. With the COVID-19 pandemic, the medical simulation team was valuable in the preparation of our health care providers to improve workflow and maintain a safe clinical environment for our providers and patients.
