Nursing Research
The Office of Nursing Research’s primary goal is to create a culture of inquiry and scholarship within MSK’s Department of Nursing by:
- investigating research interests in the clinical specialty of oncology nursing
- actively pursuing internal and external grant funding
- disseminating research findings
The Office of Nursing Research was recognized as exemplary in MSK’s 2020 Magnet designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Nursing Informatics
The Nursing Informatics team uses our knowledge and skills of clinical practice to analyze complex clinical operations, organizational structures, and care processes to facilitate decision-making and ensure that information systems are supporting the clinical workflow and professional standards of nursing and allied health.
Nursing Professional Development
Professional Development and Nursing Education is responsible for the ongoing education and development of all nursing staff. We support and promote Nursing’s overall goal for best practices that benchmark both professional nursing practice and oncology nursing. In addition, we are committed to supporting and facilitating the professional development and advancement of all of MSK’s nursing staff.
Nursing Quality
Nursing Quality Management provides constant direction and guidance to the Department of Nursing to maintain a high reliability organization and to meet the tenets of the “Quadruple Aim.” The four aims are: enhancing patient experience, improving population health, reducing costs, and improving the work life of clinicians and staff.
Nursing Quality Management also takes the lead in key nursing initiatives, including the implementation and enculturation of our professional practice model, Relationship-Based Care, and supporting our institutional pursuit in maintaining Magnet status.
Nursing Evidence-Based Practice
The Division of Evidence-Based Practice is responsible for the development and oversight of departmental structures that support evidence-based practice and research utilization. In collaboration with nursing leadership and clinical staff, we ensure that current practice standards promote patient safety and are evidence-based.
