The Dental Service in the Department of Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center offers a one-year fellowship in Dental Oncology.
This certificate training program offers well-balanced clinical and didactic experience in medically compromised patients undergoing radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and/or head and neck surgery for oncologic disease. The fellows are trained in all phases of hospital dental oncology. Areas of comprehensive patient care and study include pediatric cancers, bone marrow and stem cell transplants, hematogenous and solid tumor, and oral and pharyngeal cancers.
Clinical and basic science research in the areas of oral manifestations of cancer therapies is another integral part of the program. A second year in clinical research is optional.

Eligibility
Candidates for Fellowship in Dental Oncology must have successfully completed a CODA-accredited General Practice Residency or Advanced Education in General Dentistry. Candidates who have completed other CODA-accredited programs (e.g. oral pathology, oral and maxillofacial radiology, etc.) may also be considered.
Candidates must have a license to practice dentistry in New York State by July 1 of their academic year. For information about dental licensure, please visit the license requirements page on the New York State Education Department website.
Only candidates with completed application packages will be considered for interviews.
