Medical Library

The Library subscribes to a full range of databases that encompass key science, medical, and healthcare information.

Students have access to over 1,100 journal titles, with over 80 percent of these titles accessible and available electronically. These include current issues as well as complete back-issue files for some key titles. The Library’s Web site provides access to an extensive collection of resources, including an online catalog, databases, electronic books, and electronic journals. Visit the library’s Web site.

The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Library Center is available for students’ use. First-year students attend a library orientation and register with the library so that they can borrow library materials.

Employee Health & Wellness Services

Employee Health & Wellness Services (EH&WS) provides annual required TB testing for our students and physical examinations for new students. EH&WS also provides annual flu vaccines to students. If you become ill during your training, you should notify the program director or clinical supervisor. Program director will arrange an appointment for the student with the EH&WS and prepare a referral note.

Magellan Employee Assistance Program Consortium (EAP)

The Employee Assistance Program Consortium (EAP) is a confidential, short-term counseling and supportive service that is available free of charge to students at the School of Radiation Therapy and members of your household 24/7/365. Counselors are available Monday through Friday, 8:30AM to 5PM. Additional hours can be arranged by appointment.

The EAP will protect your confidentiality. The purpose of an employee assistance program is to give employees the opportunity to help themselves cope with problems that are adversely affecting them. Employee confidence in the trustworthiness of the EAP staff plays a key role in the program’s success.

Services offered include problem identification, short-term therapy, crisis intervention, consultation, and referral for a broad range of problems.

Call your EAP for confidential assistance if you are experiencing:

  • Emotional or psychological problems such as depression, anxiety and loss
  • Relationship or interpersonal problems
  • Family problems such as single parenting, care of elderly parents, domestic violence, marital and relationship conflicts
  • Substance abuse problems such as alcoholism and drug abuse by an employee or family member. The EAPC offers confidential referrals to treatment programs
  • Legal problems
  • Financial problems such as debt management
  • Job and school performance problems
  • Health concerns
  • Any other concerns for which you might need professional assistance

Academic & Clinical Assistance

Didactic instructors make a concerted effort to provide additional assistance to those students needing reinforcement activity. All didactic instructors provide their contact information so students may request assistance. In addition, the program director and clinical supervisor are available for didactic, clinical assistance, and/or tutoring upon the student’s request.
