The Mara Sherman lab aims to understand the heterocellular interactions among pancreatic cancer cells and their surrounding microenvironment, and to target these networks for therapeutic benefit.

Medical physicist Amita Shukla Dave is a faculty member (Professor) in the Departments of Medical Physics and Radiology, Director of Quantitative Imaging, Deputy Chief for the Service of Predictive Informatics, and Vice Chairman of Radiology-Medical Physics Outreach at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK).

The goal of my research is to understand the mechanisms and structures of enzymes that perform and regulate essential nucleic acid transactions.

Physician-scientist Samuel Singer studies the genomic alterations that define new targets for therapy in sarcoma. I am a surgical oncologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of soft tissue sarcoma. I have extensive experience with this group of cancers, and am one of just a few surgeons in the world focused solely on treating sarcoma patients. My years of experience have enabled me to devise surgical techniques that improve the ability to completely remove these tumors. In addition to my clinical sarcoma practice, I conduct laboratory research to develop new methods to improve the diagnosis and treatment of sarcoma. I lead both a National Cancer Institute Specialized Program in Research Excellence (SPORE) and the Sarcoma Genome Project.

The Smith Lab studies rectal cancer, and we developed the first patient-derived rectal cancer organoids. These rectal cancer organoids recapitulate the clinical and molecular features of patients with rectal cancer and uniquely reflect the clinical responses to therapy of the patients from which they were derived.

Interventional radiologist Constantinos Sofocleous leads research in the optimization of image-guided therapies for colorectal cancer metastases.

Computational biologist Ruslan Soldatov develops computational methods to study cell fate decisions and somatic evolution in normal tissues and cancer.

Physician-scientist David Solit studies human oncology and pathogenesis, genomics, oncogenes and tumor suppressors, cancer therapeutics, and clinical trials.

Dr. Solomon is an interventional radiologist whose team investigates novel minimally invasive, image-guided therapies and their biologic and immunologic interactions.

The Studer laboratory investigates human stem cells as tools to understand normal and pathological development in the nervous system and to develop cell-based strategies for regenerative medicine.
