Overview

The Andrew Jackson Lab

I am an associate attending medical physicist in the Computer Service of the Department of Medical Physics. Throughout my career, I have focused on the use of computer optimization to strike a balance between achieving local tumor control with therapeutically effective doses of radiation and minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue. To this end, I create software to optimize and evaluate treatment plans for external beam radiation therapy. I also work in the Predictive Informatics Service, studying the relationship between treatment outcome and the amount of radiation received by a tumor and normal tissue during radiotherapy for prostate, lung, head and neck, and paraspinal cancers.
