The mission of the Colorectal Cancer Research Center at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is to improve survival and quality of life in people with colorectal cancer. We aim to accomplish this by translating new scientific discoveries into screening and diagnostic tools as well as more effective treatment alternatives.
The Colorectal Cancer Research Center has undertaken a number of strategic initiatives. These projects are:
- Enhancing the existing infrastructure for clinical, translational, basic science, and health services research
- Developing a physician-scientist track in colorectal oncology
- Supporting the testing of investigator-initiated hypotheses
- Promoting education for clinicians and researchers in the field of colorectal cancer
