Metastasis research is labor-intensive and expensive. There is currently a considerable level of interest by private individuals and foundations to fund metastasis research. In addition to pursuing organized responses to requests for applications from government agencies, the Alan and Sandra Gerry Metastasis and Tumor Ecosystems Center (GMTEC) will support institutional efforts to attract additional funds to support research on metastasis.
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center gratefully acknowledges visionary support for GMTEC from Alan and Sandra Gerry, with additional founding support from the W.M. Keck Foundation, the William Randolph Hearst Foundations, the Robert J. Kleberg, Jr. and Helen C. Kleberg Foundation, and the Laura and Christopher Pucillo Metastasis Research Fund, the Shulamit Katzman Fellowship Fund, and the Caroline Coulton Trust.
With oversight from GMTEC leadership, future funds raised will be used to supplement the work of investigators with a proven record of progress in metastasis research and to fund initiatives from investigators newly attracted to this area of research.
