Learn more about the resources and state-of-the-art technology that are available within MSK’s core facilities.
Video Details

Scientists at the Sloan Kettering Institute have access to a variety of state-of-the-art core facilities that provide services and technology to support research. The cores provide the highest quality of scientific technology in rapid turn-around time, while operating in a cost-effective manner. Each of the cores is staffed by research experts in the technologies offered. Education and training is provided in select cores.

For general information regarding the core facilities, please email Agnes Viale at [email protected].

31 Core Facilities found
Genetically Modified Animal (GMA) Phenotyping
The Tri-Institutional Genetically Modified Animal Phenotyping Service provides an extensive baseline phenotypic profile of genetically modified animals.
High Performance Computing Group
The MSK HPC Group is home to powerful computing systems designed to facilitate the work of the Computational Biology Center and any MSK/SKI researchers.
Immune Discovery & Modeling Service (IDMS)
The Memorial Sloan Kettering Immune Discovery & Modeling Service (IDMS) provides innovative, state-of-the-art technologies to measure drug levels, detect proteins, and identify rare cell types at levels not detectable by conventional clinical instruments.
Immune Monitoring
The Immune Monitoring Core helps researchers evaluate immune responses in patients receiving novel immune therapies with the hope that correlations can be identified between immune biomarker expression and clinical activity, ultimately leading to improved clinical decision making and movement of experimental therapies from the clinical trial phase into standard clinical practice.
Integrated Genomics Operation (IGO)
The Integrated Genomics Operation is a collaborative core facility focused on generating high-quality genomics data for basic, translational, and clinical research projects.
Investigational Products
The Investigational Products Facility’s mission is to ensure the quality and regulatory compliance of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s clinical trials investigational products and Investigational New Drug (IND) applications, and to promote efficiency in our drug development projects, through a combination of advisory, project management, and quality assurance (QA) oversight services.
Labware & General Services
The Glassware Washing Core processes cleaned and sterilized laboratory materials, such as glass, plastics, and instruments, through a central administrative office and satellite processing facilities.
Media Preparation
The Media Preparation Core prepares high-quality, chemically-defined tissue culture and bacteriological media necessary for ongoing cell growth research at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
Molecular Cytology
The Molecular Cytology Core helps researchers identify and master technologies for detecting and analyzing molecules in their natural environment -- for example, in cells, tissues, organs, embryos, and tumors.
Molecular Microbiology
The Molecular Microbiology Facility (MMF) is part of the Center for Microbes, Inflammation, and Cancer. The laboratory works with investigators to use next generation sequencing platforms to analyze the microbial composition of experimental samples obtained from mice or clinical samples obtained from patients.
