Devin McAvoy is the Research Laboratory Manager of the IDMS lab. He oversees assay development, proteomics projects, and data analysis and statistics within the IDMS. Devin’s main expertise is in the design and execution of flow cytometry and proteomics experiments, along with the analysis and interpretation of the complex data sets they generate. He aims to continuously improve the efficiency and quality of work done by the IDMS by implementing optimization and automation strategies in both the laboratory and digital space. Devin earned his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University, and previously worked at LakePharma Inc., where he led proteomics and target discovery projects in the Pharmaceutical Assays & Analytics department. He is pursuing a master’s degree in Bioinformatics from New York University in support of his efforts to leverage computational methods within the IDMS. Devin’s research interests include using deep immunophenotype and biomarker data to create more advanced predictive modeling frameworks in the CAR-T and BMT space.
