Jacques C. Beauvais, MD
Gastroenterologist
My Role at MSKWe post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.

About Me
- Assistant Attending Physician
After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, I was fortunate enough to do my residency in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center, where I worked to treat some of the most underserved populations in New York City. This was one of the most rewarding periods in my career, and it was also when I was first exposed to the field of gastroenterology.
From there, my passion for treating gastrointestinal disorders (GI) grew, and I ultimately decided to subspecialize in the field. I trained as a GI fellow at New York University and developed a passion for advanced therapeutic endoscopy, which encompasses all procedures that involve an endoscope (a flexible tube with a tiny camera that allows us to view certain parts of the body). I then completed my GI training after finishing an advanced therapeutic endoscopy fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK).

As a clinician, my primary goal is to provide excellent patient-centered care that uses the most up-to-date strategies. My expertise encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of GI disorders, with a focus on therapeutic endoscopy, which includes such as endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), complex polypectomy, and luminal stenting. These highly specialized procedures are often used to diagnose and treat GI disorders, as well as early cancers of the GI tract; large polyps found in the colon, stomach, or small intestine; Barret’s esophagus and esophageal cancer, and hepatobiliary cancers, among other conditions. After patients meet with me, my hope is that they walk away knowing that they’ve received high quality care from a physician who not only addressed the reason for their visit, but also displayed empathy and compassion.
At MSK, I am also working closely with Dr. Makoto Nishimura to expand our endoscopic resection program to employ techniques such as endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). ESD is a technique pioneered in Japan that allows for the endoscopic removal of pre-cancerous and early cancerous lesions from the GI tract without the need for major surgery and its associated potential complications.
A gastroenterologist (GAS-troh-EN-teh-RAH-loh-jist) is a doctor with special training in the gastrointestinal (GI) system. This includes the esophagus, intestines, stomach, bile ducts, gallbladder, liver, and pancreas.
