Kylee Maclachlan, MBBCh, PhD
Myeloma Specialist
My Role at MSKWe post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.
About Me
- Assistant Attending Physician
I am a hematologist and researcher specializing in the care of people with multiple myeloma and related disorders, including smoldering myeloma and monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS). I work with my colleagues at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to identify optimal treatment strategies for people with these conditions. We strive for continuous improvement in both treatment efficacy and quality of life, clear communication, and shared decision-making during each step of a patient’s care journey.

Smoldering myeloma and MGUS can progress to active myeloma that requires treatment. My research examines the genomic changes that predict which patients with smoldering myeloma and MGUS will experience disease progression and subsequently need myeloma therapy. I aim to improve this prediction so we can treat the right patient at the right time. I also research the genomic features that predict patient response to treatment, as well as the interaction of genomic changes with the immune system, with an overarching goal of using these research insights to personalize treatment to each patient’s individual needs.
Having worked in three countries’ health systems, I have experience in treating patients from different backgrounds. This experience dovetails with my interest in health access and equity; I seek to improve historically underrepresented patients’ access to cutting-edge clinical trials, research, and cancer therapeutics.
A myeloma specialist is a doctor with special training in diagnosing and treating myeloma.
