Sminu Bose, MD
Gynecologic Medical Oncologist
My Role at MSKWe post reviews for MSK healthcare providers who have at least 30 patient experience surveys completed. If you do not see reviews for a provider, it may be because they do not yet have enough survey responses, or the provider may not be part of the group of healthcare providers included in the survey.
Only outpatient providers are included in the survey. Healthcare providers who only work in the hospital or in urgent care are not included in the survey. Pathologists or researchers who do not provide direct care to patients do not have reviews.

About Me
- Assistant Attending Physician
I am a gynecologic oncologist dedicated to the care of women with gynecologic cancers, including:
I am an expert in using systemic treatments (drugs that spread throughout the body to treat disease), such as immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and chemotherapy to treat gynecologic cancers. Although I treat all gynecologic cancers, I have a particular focus on rare types, like uterine sarcoma. This includes leiomyosarcoma, high-grade undifferentiated sarcomas, endometrial stromal sarcomas, and perivascular epithelioid cell neoplasms, among others.

Treating gynecologic cancers often requires a multidisciplinary approach (experts from many teams, like surgery and radiation oncology). I work with an expert team of gynecologic surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and radiologists to develop personalized treatment plans for everyone in my care. It is important that my patients leave my office feeling comfortable and confident in their care plan. To create an environment where this is possible, I encourage questions and open, honest discussion.
I am also very active in clinical research with the Gynecologic Medical Oncology Service. Much of my work focuses on the development of novel treatments for women with uterine sarcomas. I have been involved in several multi-institutional and national research studies and recently won two Merit Awards from Conquer Cancer®, the ASCO Foundation for my contributions in this area.
I earned my medical degree from The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed my residency and oncology fellowship training at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. My dedication to a career in oncology is long-standing, and my personal experience of having a loved one with cancer drives me to provide the best care that I can for my patients.
A gynecologic (GY-neh-kuh-LAH-jik) medical oncologist is a cancer doctor who specializes in gynecologic cancers. This includes cervical, fallopian tube, ovarian, uterine (endometrial), vaginal, and vulvar cancers.
