The du Vigneaud Symposium is an annual highlight, featuring posters and oral presentations by students in the Cornell/Sloan Kettering graduate program. The symposium is named in honor of Vincent du Vigneaud, Professor and Head of the Biochemistry Department at Cornell Medical College from 1938-1967, and recipient of the 1955 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
At the 2006 symposium, Justin Potuzak presented his work on the diversity-oriented synthesis of spiroketals, garnering him a 2006 Vincent du Vigneaud Prize for best oral presentation.
