MSK EBP Foundations is designed to teach staff the essentials of Evidence-based Practice, beginning with developing PICO (population, intervention, comparison, outcome) key terms and creating search strategies. This is the first EBP course that MSK designed and created for its staff—and we view it as critical in creating staff awareness about the potential value and importance of implementing EBP within a clinical organization.

After completion of the MSK EBP Foundations course, your team will be given tools and resources needed to develop this program at your organization.

This package includes:

• One 90-minute online class taught by two MSK EBP Instructors to a group of up to 25 individuals from your institution. The class includes didactic and learning activities to ensure understanding of key concepts.
• One 2-hour consultation session hosted by MSK EBP team members to train up to five individuals on how to teach this course at your institution, including tips and guidance about how to incentivize staff to participate.
• Access to, and use of, MSK EBP Consulting’s exclusive and proprietary course curriculum to be used to educate staff at your facility.

Fees: $300 per person. Minimum requirement 15 people (20% discount applied if purchased in addition with SEEK™ Package or Publishing Workshop Package)

Note: This package also may be licensed, under separate arrangement, for use by institutions who want to teach the MSK EBP Foundations curriculum directly to their staff. Add-on enhancement workshops (see below) also are available for licensing under such terms.

Length: 2-hour virtual course

MSK Critical Appraisal Workshop teaches staff how to critically appraise the EBP literature and understand the different types of research design methods and studies. After completion of this workshop and related training, your team will be given the tools and resources needed to develop this program at your organization.

This enhancement option includes:

• Two-hour online workshop taught by two MSK EBP Instructors to a group of up to 25 individuals from your institution. The class includes didactic and learning activities to ensure understanding of taught concepts.
• One two-hour session hosted by MSK EBP team members to train up to five individuals from your institution on how to teach this course, including tips and guidance on how to incentivize staff to participate.
• Access and use of MSK EBP Consulting’s exclusive and proprietary curriculum for this course to be used to educate staff at your facility.

Fees: $450 per person. Minimum requirement 15 people. (20% discount applied if purchased with another package)

Length: 90-minute virtual course

Creating Evidence-based Policies & Procedures teaches leadership and staff how to create and disseminate policies and procedures that are evidence-based. Policies and procedures guide clinical practice. Ensuring that they are based on the latest research and professional guidelines is critical to standardizing and protecting the practice of clinicians at your institution.

This enhancement option includes:

• One 90-minute didactic instructional session, given to up to 10 individuals, on how to create, review, approve, and disseminate evidence-based policies and procedures. This session will include tips and guidance on how to incentivize staff to participate in policy and procedure creation and review. Content will review the role of shared governance in policy and procedure review.
• Three 30-minute follow-up consultations will take place over the next six months to help ensure successful integration of these practices into your institution.

Fees: $250 per person. Minimum requirement 10 people. (20% Discount applied if purchased with another package).

LEVEL: Intermediate

Note: Participants are expected to have a basic understanding of EBP. Participation in the MSK EBP Foundations Course or similar training qualifies.

Length: 4 days (including didactive/active learning and presentation days); all activities are virtual

The MSK SEEK™ course is the heart of MSK’s EBP programming. The SEEK™ program will prepare you to transform your organization into an environment where practice constantly evolves based on new, evidence-based recommendations. This is a virtual program spread out over the course of three months, including three didactic/active learning days and one additional day reserved for presentations. Program content includes:

• Didactic sessions to teach the full range of the EBP process, including creating and implementing search strategies, critically appraising literature, systematically synthesizing evidence, developing recommendations, managing projects, and evaluating metrics. Classes and assigned self-directed work are spaced over the course of three months to allow participants sufficient time to 1) apply knowledge learned, while 2) demonstrating understanding in phases congruent with a predicted timeline for steady progress, success, and understanding.
• After completion of the SEEK™ course, your team will be given the tools and resources needed to develop and sustain this program at your organization.

This package includes extensive instructional and consultation support, including:

• MSK EBP instructors will teach three course days. During the morning session (8AM – 12PM) instruction will consist of learning activities for up to 30 individuals at your institution. Maximum: 10 groups.
• Note that ten MSK EBP mentors will be paired with one-to-three mentees, depending upon the needs of your institution. Each mentee or group will work on the same project for the entire 3-month course, to ensure continuity and an in-depth successful experience.
• During the afternoon session (1PM – 4PM) on each course day, mentors and mentees will work together to apply knowledge learned in the morning sessions to participant-specific projects.
• Additionally, mentors will meet with their groups for 30 minutes (on a bi-weekly basis). Mentors also will be available for consultation via email.
• Two 90-minute follow-up consultation sessions will be hosted by MSK EBP team members to offer continued support for learners and projects post-course completion.
• One 2-hour consultation session will be hosted by MSK EBP team members to train up to five individuals to teach this course to their colleagues at your institution. Note that individuals receiving this training must have attended and completed the SEEK™ class.

Institutions that have licensed the MSK SEEK™ Package will retain access and use of MSK EBP Consulting’s exclusive and proprietary course curriculum for use in training staff at their facilities.

Fees: $40,000 (enrollment up to 30 individuals) or $1,800 per person (with smaller enrollments; minimum requirement: 21 people).

Note: This package also may be licensed, under separate arrangement, for use by institutions who want to teach the MSK EBP Foundations curriculum directly to their staff. Pricing will be customized. Add-on enhancement workshops are also available for licensing under such terms.

Note: Participants are expected to have a basic understanding of EBP. Participation in the MSK EBP Foundations Course or similar training elsewhere qualifies.

Length: One-day virtual course, with additional mentoring activity included (as described below)

MSK Publishing Workshop, a one-day virtual course, pairs MSK EBP publishing mentors with novice writers at your institution to teach them how to write an outline, abstract, query letter, and full manuscript for a peer-reviewed journal. After completion of the Publishing Workshop, your team will be given the tools and resources they need to develop this program at your organization. This course will include:

• One full-day class (8AM-4PM) consisting of two components (see below).
• Two MSK EBP instructors will teach the online morning session (8 a.m. – 12 PM), to focus on didactic content. Up to 20 individuals from your institution will attend. Maximum: five groups.
• During an afternoon session, five MSK EBP mentors will be paired with one-to-four mentees per group; each group will work on the same publication. Mentors will work with new authors on tasks such as developing initial drafts of an abstract, outline and/or manuscript, drafting a query letter (if applicable), and determining appropriate conference or journal to target for possible publication.
• Two 30-minute follow-up consultation sessions for each group will be hosted by MSK EBP team members to provide continued support for authors.
• Additionally, MSK EBP team members will host a consultation session to train up to five individuals at your institution on how to teach this course. They will also mentor course participants as they move on to teach this program within their institutions.
• Access to, and use of, MSK EBP Consulting’s exclusive and proprietary course curriculum for this course to be used to educate staff at your facility.

Fees: $500 per person. Minimum requirement 3 people. (20% discount applied if purchased with SEEK™ or EBP Foundations Package)

Alternative option: Educational content and consultation services associated with the MSK Publishing Workshop may be licensed on an individual basis for one-to-four co-authors seeking help with publishing. In such cases, an MSK EBP specialist will be assigned to provide all licensed services.

Fees: Additional consultation fees for review and editing support by MSK EBP team members throughout pre-submission and post-submission process at rate of $130/hour for up to 50 hours

Note that the MSK EBP Mentor Work must be licensed as an add-on enhancement with either the SEEK™, EBP Foundations, and/or Publishing Workshop Package.

Length: One-day virtual course

The MSK EBP Mentor Workshop is a one-day online course focused on preparing new mentors with the high-level EBP skills necessary for them to succeed in this important role. As a major focus of this workshop, mentors will learn strategies to help guide their mentees through EBP project implementation.

Identifying and training mentors to be competent and effective at teaching EBP has proven to be central to our success here at MSK, and we will work with you on creating this framework in your institution. After completion of the MSK EBP Mentor Workshop, your team will be given the tools and resources needed to develop an EBP mentor training program at your organization.

This add-on enhancement option includes:

• One full-day (9AM – 3PM) course taught by eight-to-ten MSK EBP instructors to a group of up to 25 individuals from your institution. The class includes didactic and learning activities to ensure understanding of taught concepts.
• One follow-up two-hour session hosted by MSK EBP team members to train up to five individuals on how to teach this course at your institution, including tips and guidance on how to incentivize staff to participate.
• Access to, and use of, MSK EBP Consulting’s exclusive and proprietary curriculum for this course to be used to educate staff at your facility.

Fees: $500 per person. Minimum, requirement 10 people (20% Discount is applied if purchased with another package.)

• Consulting Services: Additional EBP Consulting Services may be available at a charge of $130/hour.
• Subscription Fees: Subscribers will receive annual updates for purchased course content relating to the SEEK™ program: $5,000/year.
