Mohammad Alhomoud

Mohammad Alhomoud is currently a bone marrow transplant fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York city and future faculty at the Adult BMT service at MSKCC. He obtained his medical degree from Qassim university, Saudi Arabia, before he completed his Internal Medicine residency at Case Western University Hospital in Cleveland in 2020 and his Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship at Weill Cornell Medicine/New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York in 2023. Before joining the Shouval lab, he joined the Guzman lab at Cornell where he focused on improving CD19 CART therapy outcomes through integrating low dose radiation. He conducted preclinical work showing a significant improvement in CD19 CART efficacy when combined with radiation in Leukemia and Lymphoma models in in vitro and in several animal platforms. Since joining the Shouval lab, he is interested in mitigating short and long-term CAR T toxicity. He is currently investigating the role of venous thromboembolism in the outcomes of CAR T therapy, its interplay with immune recovery, and to better characterize risk factors govern this unique complication.
