MSK’s pancreatic cancer team is among the nation’s largest for treatment of pancreatic cancer or a pancreatic cyst. We’re a leading hospital for pancreatic cancer care and research.
Our surgeons operate on about 350 people with pancreatic cancer a year. Our oncologists (cancer doctors) and other subspecialists treat about 850 people a year. That’s among the highest volumes of pancreatic cancer cases in both New York City and the country.
Our pancreatic cancer team has experts from many specialties. This includes surgeons, oncologists, radiation oncologists, gastroenterologists, radiologists, and pathologists.
They’re recognized worldwide for their strengths in diagnosing and treating tumors of the pancreas. Your care team works together to give you an accurate diagnosis and to create a treatment plan.
Many of our doctors are also researchers working on new treatments for pancreatic cancer. This means you may be able to join one of our research studies, also known as clinical trials. Some MSK clinical trials give you access to new treatments that are not yet available at most hospitals.
MSK’s Pancreatic Cyst Surveillance Program is one of the largest in the country. We monitor more than 2,000 people with pancreatic cysts through the program. Each year, MSK sees more than 300 new patients who have a pancreas cyst.
